A trip to Snøhetta view point will give you a fantastic view of Snøhetta and the surrounding area. If you want to go further into the mountains you can take a shuttle bus from Hjerkinn to Snøheim in the summer. You can see both musk ox and wild reindeer, as well as arctic fox. Closer to Dombås, at Fokstumyra there is a trails built for those who want to go birdwatching. There are many activities around Dovdrefjell. Here you will find opportunities for biking, horse safari, musk ox safari and other exciting activities all year round. Folldal municipality is historically a mining community. Folldal mines in the center of Folldal is worth a visit. The museum provides an exciting insight into the history of this community.
