Welcome to this high quality vacation home in quiet surroundings. The cabin, located high up, has a large, sunny terrace and a splendid view over most of the Kvamskogen plateau. Here you have nice hiking terrain with berries and mushrooms in the fall, and several mountain lakes with high stocks of trout. Within a short drive you reach the Hardangerfjord where you can go fishing, swimming, hiking or just enjoy the graceful natural scenery. Try some of the good fishing spots by the fjord, or go swimming at the beaches Sandstrand in Øystese, Gullfiskvatnet or Vikøyevjo. Visit Norheimsund with restaurants, shops, the waterfalls Steindalsfossen and the maritime museum Hardanger Fartøyvernsenter. We also recommend a road trip along some of the National Tourist Routes through the Hardanger region, or the ferry trip to Jondal with Folgefonna Summer Ski Centre. Within one hour's drive you reach Bergen with plenty of experiences and sights, i.a. the Aquarium, the funicular railway Fløibanen, Bryggen (UNESCO), Bergenhus Fortress and the Edvard Grieg museum Troldhaugen. Kvamskogen is a very popular winter destination due to its great cross country tracks and several skiing centres with nice ski lifts and downhill slopes. NB! Steep hill up to the cabin. Good tires and shoes are necessary. Bed linen & firewood must be brought along.
